GoldenEye: Source Scenario Summary

The Rundown

In GoldenEye: Source there are several gameplay scenarios from the original GoldenEye 64 and some that we created on our own. Below you can find a general summary of each scenario. Most of the scenario names are inspired by James Bond movie titles and some scenarios are even based on the content of the movie such as Live and Let Die and Man With The Golden Gun.

To see extended information on the more complicated gameplay scenarios click the link in their box to the right.

Deathmatch

name = Deathmatch |cname = deathmatch |team = Toggleable Deathmatch is exactly like what you expect it to be, gritty hardcore violence aimed at your enemy's head. The goal is to kill as many people you can during each round. There is the option of enabling a frag limit to end the match and switch maps once that limit is reached by any player or team. Teamplay is supported.

Dr. No Armor

name = Dr. No Armor |cname = drnoarmor |team = Toggleable This gameplay is exactly like deathmatch above, except that all armor is disabled! Teamplay is supported.

Tournament Deathmatch

name = Tournament Deathmatch |cname = tournamentdm |team = Always Tournament Deathmatch is played out exactly like team deathmatch above except that team spawns are used and a “warmup” time is available to be set. This gameplay scenario is designed for clan matches and LAN games primarily. Teamplay is forced on.

License to Kill

name = License to Kill |cname = ltk |team = Toggleable License To Kill is a game mode in which any hit with any weapon in any body part causes instant death regardless of health or armor. Teamplay is supported. While playing, kill based achievements have a 3-1 ratio due to the fast nature of gameplay.

<font color=red>*NOTE*</font» Due to the nature of online games, lag may cause hit detection issues where it may *LOOK* like you hit the enemy when you really didn't.

You Only Live Twice

name = You Only Live Twice |cname = yolt |team = Toggleable |link = YOLT You Only Live Twice is related to “Last Man Standing” except that you have two lives in the course of a round. Once you lose your second life you will be forced into observer mode and cannot respawn until there is only one player left or the round time ends. The winner of the round will be declared on the round report and may not be the player with the most kills. Teamplay is supported.

<font color=red>*NOTE*</font» When only two players remain the radar will be forced on and the players will be able to see each other not matter how far away they are. This speeds up the end of the gameplay and doesn't allow one player to hide until the round time ends.

Man With The Golden Gun

name = Man With The Golden Gun |cname = mwgg |team = Never |link = MWGG Man with the Golden Gun exemplifies pistol marksmanship and competitive gameplay. The goal is to grab the Golden Gun that is somewhere on the map and use it to vanquish your opponents. As soon as you grab the gun you are painted as a bright gold target on the radar and everyone will be trying to kill you. The Golden Gun does not have a clip and must be reloaded after every shot making it very important that you place your shots carefully, although one shot kills!

Capture The Key

name = Capture The Key |cname = capturekey |team = Automatic |link = Capture The Key Capture the Key is a very dynamic gameplay scenario. Depending on the settings imposed by the server, the gameplay will be setup in a Non-Teamplay (DM) or Teamplay mode.

In DM mode there is one capture point spawned on the map. The number of keys spawned is dependent on the number of players with 1 extra key spawned for every 3 players in the round. Your objective is to capture as many keys as possible which respawn in a different location after being captured. Points are only earned through captures, however you can still use your weapons when you carry a key and you receive a minor speed increase.

In Teamplay mode there are two capture points spawned, one for each team. The MI6 team is trying to steal the intelligence briefcase from Janus while the Janus team is trying to steal the GoldenEye key from MI6. You can capture the token immediately if your team's token is in its home location. If it is not, you have to wait a 5 second (default) period at the capture point before being able to capture the token. Points are earned by killing the other team and capturing the token. Team points are only earned through token captures.

Living Daylights

name = Living Daylights |cname = livingdaylights |team = Toggleable |link = Living Daylights Living Daylights is throw back to the scenario from GoldenEye 64 that NO ONE played. We have taken the basic formula from the 64 and ramped it up for GoldenEye: Source. In this scenario, flags are strewn about the map when the round starts. Your objective is to grab a flag and hold onto it as long as you can, that is the only way to score points. While holding the flag you can collect ammo, weapons, and armor to increase the rate at which you obtain points, however your only weapon is the flag itself! You do receive a speed bonus while holding the flag to avoid conflict with other players. If you do happen to receive damage, a timer begins that awards you with extra points and armor if you do not receive additional damage during the countdown. When you pickup the flag your health and armor are refilled to the maximum.

Live and Let Die

name = Live and Let Die |cname = liveandletdie |team = Never |link = Live and Let Die Live and Let Die was inspired by the movie where Bond and Baron Samedi duel it out in a fit of black magic and traditional espionage. In this scenario, a random player is selected to play as Baron Samedi at the start of the round. As the Baron you are tasked with eliminating all the other players (we call them “Bonds”). As a Bond you are tasked with eliminating the Baron. The catch is, the Baron can only be killed by the Golden Gun. Any other weapon will simply cause the Baron to be reincarnated growing in strength and power. This game is a balance between grabbing and retaining the Golden Gun and trying not to be eliminated by the Baron. The Baron has a secret weapon on his side: Voodoo Powers. When you are the Baron, by pressing g (default) you can use the Baron's power to teleport yourself to another location on the map instantly while also leveling up. This is useful to get away from the Bond wielding the Golden Gun. You can also recharge your voodoo powers by killing a Bond with your knife to a maximum of 4 uses.

When the round ends scores are given based on the result. The Baron always receives the number of kills he made during the round. If the Baron was killed by the Golden Gun, the player who made the shot is declared the winner and receives points equal to the number of players in the server.

GunGame

name = GunGame |cname = gungame |team = Toggeable |link = GunGame GunGame is a fun gameplay scenario that is inspired by the Counter Strike: Source modification. Each player starts off at the given level and progresses up the list of weapons with each level giving you a less powerful or accurate weapon. The first person to make the final kill with the knife is declared the victor. If gg_deathmatch is enabled on the server players will respawn after they die, otherwise the player cannot respawn until a last man is left standing.
